The present thesis illustrates how the "creeping occupation" violates Georgia’s territorial integrity and fundamental human rights based on the historical, as well as the 2008 and subsequent developments. Stemming from the current political events, the number of IDPs is a big problem across the world. All this is stipulated by very common international or non-international conflicts that are happening in today's world. These conflicts also include the problems of people internally displaced from the occupied territories in Georgia.

Dalį Ilūkstės apskrities lenkų ir lietuvių karinės pajėgos okupavo 1919 m. vasarą. Lenkų valdžios įstaigos nedelsdamos įtraukė 6 apskrities rytinės dalies valsčius ir Gryvos miestą į savo valstybės sudėtį ir atsisakė svarstyti šį klausimą su Latvijos atstovais. Klausimas buvo išspręstas tiktai 1920 m. liepos pradžioje, kai dėl Raudonosios armijos puolimo lenkų kariuomenė buvo priversta pasitraukti iš Ilūkstės apskrities. Tuo pasinaudojo Latvijos pusė, tuo momentu pagal savo galimybes užimdami dalį tos teritorijos. Likusią užėmė lietuviai, kurie jau nuo 1919 m. vasaros buvo rūpimoje Ilūkstės apskrities dalyje. The aim of this paper is to present the methodological assumptions necessary to examine the wars and conflicts. Authors refer to the genesis of the research on the phenomenon of war that occurred after the end of World War II. Moreover, the authors selects the research methods. The wide range of research methods will be applied in international relations, such as an empirical report, based on the description of the various conflicts and their interpretation. It must be emphasized that methodological technique applied in humanities and empirical sciences is necessary to examine war and peace.
